With nearly 40 years of experience in finance and securities, Michael oversees the firm’s tailor-made retirement plans. He is always looking for new ways to help retirees and near-retirees earn income for life as they approach or enter retirement.
Michael has held senior management positions at heavyweights Janney Montgomery Scott, Prudential Securities and Shearson American Express. Before joining Secure Retirement Strategies, he spent seven years as an executive director with Oppenheimer.
Michael has more than 20 years of experience as a dispute resolution arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). At FINRA, he arbitrated more than 50 cases, resolving disputes brokerage firms had with clients, employees and other brokerage firms. Michael also served as a board member of the New York Stock Exchange Disciplinary Hearing Board for eight years, a board member of the New York Stock Exchange acceptability board for two years and a dispute resolution arbitrator for the National Futures Exchange for 14 years.
He was appointed as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) in 1991, the New York Stock Exchange in 1992 and the National Futures Exchange in 2003. In addition, Michael is a registered advisor under the NFL Players Association financial advisors program, a highly restrictive qualifying program sponsored by the NFL Players Union.
Michael has passed the Series 63 and 65 securities exams, holds licenses in life and health insurance and annuities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and is registered as an Investment Adviser Representative. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history from the University of Pittsburgh.
Michael has been married for more than 40 years and has three sons and a granddaughter. His hobbies include sports, weight training, biking, cooking, traveling, and researching and building Napoleonic-era model ships.
