Independence and Accountability – Simultaneously At Work For Our Clients

Independence.

Accountability.

Those two concepts seemingly don’t go hand-in-hand when it comes to financial responsibility.  Yet we believe that, as a firm, it’s vital for us to marry these two, and always hold them as values for our client’s benefit.

What do we mean by this?  It’s simple.

We’re independent in that we own our firm.

We’re accountable in the sense that our firm, being licensed fiduciaries and registered investment advisors with the SEC, are held to a fiscal responsibility standard to which an extremely few number of firms in the United States experience.

Watch below as Michael Neft, managing partner at SRS, elaborates more on these concepts, and how our clients benefit greatly from our organization’s ownership structure and account management principles.

We are independent financial planners.

We’re a complete financial planning firm, where we will look at your entire financial picture. We will create a written plan for you. A written plan that’s going to be as simple or as complex as you want it to be for us to create for you. We’re going to include managing your money with buckets, different buckets for different goals, different needs, different objectives.

And those buckets may contain safe money, safe growth money, where you can’t lose money. We also believe in protecting your money with risk. Managed risk, where we manage that risk for you, where we have money in the market. We’re registered investment advisors. We’re registered with the securities and exchange commission.

And we are fiduciaries. A fiduciary is the highest standard that any financial advisor is held to. And only about one half of 1% of all the advisors in this country are called fiduciaries. We’re proud to hold that title, which means we are always going to work for your best interest. Nobody else’s.

We collectively own this company. We’re not owned by a bank, a brokerage firm, an insurance company, a hedge fund, a mutual fund. We own the company and we do what is best for you. Not what is best for the parent company, because we don’t have a parent company. That’s what sets us apart. When we make recommendations to manage your accounts in the market, we don’t use a cookie cutter approach. We don’t manage money that way we sit down and we talk to you. We listen to what your goals and objectives are, and then we’ll create a portfolio to manage for you.

And you have as much input as we have with that portfolio. We discuss everything fully with you, and we don’t handle accounts on a discretionary basis. Every transaction, fully discussed with you, so you’re a part of that planning process and you’re a part of the implementation process, and that’s what sets us apart. That’s what makes us so different. Putting a plan together, using every tool that we have available to us to make sure that plan works not just today, but next year and every year thereafter.

That’s how we do business with you. We look forward to the opportunity to help you.
